Today already part 2 of these squares. As promised in part 1 some big cats, other wild animals and a few animals for which I don’t have a real ‘category’.
It is so addictive, these 10×10 C2C squares. It takes about 1 h to make one, so very quick result. In the photo underneath you can see which squares I already made. But not only making these squares is addictive, also designing the squares (so at the moment I still have to make more squares (and design more squares and therefore make even more squares 🙂 ). You can find the patterns (in graph form) below, sorted by ‘type’ of animal.
I only used 9 colours for all the squares.

It is April, so time to make a spring wreath! I decided to use as much green yarn as I could find in my stash and some purple and pink for the flowers. Next to that I still had a bunch of pink little eggs that needed to be used.
To cover the floral foam I made little pieces (rectangles and squares) of single crochet in all the different colours of green I found. To cover the bottom of the wreath I made the pieces of grass and also the eggs and flowers are placed inside a piece of grass (but than not a string, but circular or rectangular shaped). And then…. just a lot a lot a lot a lot a lot a lot of leaves.
I also made a piece of grass to put in the middle of the wreath. For Eastern you can place the Eastern bunny, some eggs or little chicks inside the wreath.
Yeah, it is ready!!! As you could have read in ‘The Earth – Part 3‘ I started some time ago with ‘The Earth’. But now it is finally finished!
Lovely people from the ‘CROCHET ADDICT’ Facebook site, thank you so much for your likes and for all the ideas on the border 🙂
This is how I made ‘The Earth’. I used the graph underneath, so you start with chaining 65 in blue + 1 chain to turn (do not make the mistake to chain 64 as I did, since you only have 64 squares in the pattern, but these are the squares for the cross stitches). Make 54 rows (again, one more than amount of squares in the graph) with blue. If you like to start with the cross stitch part before (as I did), you can already start with that after a few rows of your ‘canvas’. For the cross stitch part you need white (ice), yellow (dessert), grey (big mountains), dark green (woods) and light green (rest of the land).
You get the best result when you make your cross stitch always in the same order. So, e.g. first the line from bottom left to top right and then the line from bottom right to top left. I made all the ice of both poles like this. For the rest of the earth i did it the other way around: first bottom right to top left and then bottom left to top right.
After I finished the earth and before making the border I did some blocking (which was actually really needed, since the bottom was quite a bit wider then the top part). And then the border; I made first two rows with single crochet around in brown. The last row I also made in single crochet, but then only in the back loop. The idea was that I could use the front loop to make another stitch in there to create a photoframe, but in the end I did not like it (I tried single crochet and the crab stitch as you can see below).
I love maps of the world. I even have more posters of the map of the earth then I have walls to put them on…
Still I don’t have enough… and therefore I started with making a pattern for Europe. It is mainly used for C2C, since you have actual squares with C2C.
Today I finally finished my Zpagetti bag. I became quite heavy… 1.35 kg!
The straps I made with Tunesian crochet. Since it is only 4 stitches wide, I could use the 12 mm hook which I used for the whole bag.
For the handle I used this pattern: Motivation Bacelet from Crochetverse. I have used it before to make some bracelets and I really love how easy it works up, while getting a robust look.
